As part of its efforts to manage and improve quality of healthcare services, a tertiary hospital has committed to implement a performance management (PM) initiative to reduce hospital-acquired infections. Explain in detail, the following components of the PM cycle the hospital may use to reach its goal of reducing infections.
a- Identify and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
b- Identify strategies, tools and technologies, particularly for major IT infrastructure development through acquiring relevant IT products/services to help with data gathering.
c- Implement and generate reports based on tools developed in (b).
