Assignment: Please use the video to discuss how the United Daughter of the Confederacy contributed to not only Southern culture, but to the larger national culture. Make connections to the video we watched from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian along with what we’ve seen in recent years with the glorification of the Confederacy (the flag, statues, civil war, etc) and/or the attempts to whitewash history in some states through legislative action (i.e. book bans, woke act, etc).
