Early prevention of ATOD can be effective with youth in California schools. Some ATOD prevention programs are implemented as early as third grade. For this Discussion, please review the attached document, California Department of Education’s Grades 9-12 Health Education Framework on ATOD. I actually authored this for the state of California’s teachers on how best to implement ATOD prevention in the classroom.
