Clinical Presentation

Topic: bulimia nervosa

Purpose:

The assignment is designed to encourage person-centered care using the principles of culturally and clinically competence and responsibility. The student will also develop skill in communicating in a scholarly and professional manner. (CLO 4, 5)

Process:

1. The student will pick a mental health diagnosis.

2. Students will complete an individual power point presentation

3. The Student will present this PowerPoint to the class

4. The presentation will focus on at least 5 of the below topics

• Topics to use for this presentation:

• Best way to interact with patient with your diagnosis

• What a patient with this diagnosis might present like

• What stigma is associated with this diagnosis

• What medication might help a patient with this diagnosis

• Any dietary restrictions for this patient

• What education do you need to give to the patient and their family about their diagnosis

• What nursing intervention would you use to care for the patient

• What would be the best communication style to use with this patient

5. The presentations will be uploaded into Canvas.

6. The presentation will be 15-20 minutes.
