I’m working on a computer science discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

After reviewing this module you’ve had an opportunity to hear and learn more about the Internet of Things (IoT). You should know that each ‘thing’ connected to the network haves a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID).

Chances are you’ve added a ‘Thing’ to your office or personal network. Controlling the use of electricity with Smart Switches or Thermostats. Adding security with Door Locks and Security Cameras or adding to your personal entertainment center with Smart Speakers or Digital Assistants.

As with all networked devices there are a set of rules (protocols) that determine how the devices behaves on the network. In the case of the IoT those protocols are created and managed by a user group and the other a private company – The Zigbee Alliance and Zensys.

Research the characteristics of Zigbee and Z-Wave and explain in your own words how these protocols use Mesh networking to support multiple devices. What are the maximum device limits and hop counts for each protocol? Which one would you recommend for a production floor? Which one would you recommend for a home or apartment? Give two or more reasons for your recommendation.
