For this week’s discussion, I invite you to dive into the various legal traditions outlined in this final chapter, in particular, how these different traditions use social control mechanisms that are tied to their culture…after all, social control is, in many ways, about restoring frayed social relationships. Dive into the connection between culture, social control and legal traditions..explore the nuances within each. What do these various legal traditions, etc show you? What have you learned about your culture, when placed in the context of other cultures? And lastly, does it feel as though one can simply import a legal tradition that is not embedded in their culture?
