There are many skill that will be useful in a career as a I/O psychologist consultant. Five skills that I have obtained through my general education classes that will make me successful at this job are gained knowledge, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, organizational skills, ethical behavior.

Demonstrate with at least two examples how your newly acquired knowledge and skills have shaped both your personal and professional development.

The newly acquire knowledge and skills have shaped my personal and professional development by helping me become a better listener and having the ability to think critically, analyze and solve problems. Having the emotional intelligence will help me manage my own emotions, as well as the emotions of others to better understand them. I also feel that learning about diversity and the broad range of ideas has helped me become more self aware of the different perspectives that comes with professional and personal development.

Describe your plans for putting your education to use within your community.

I plan to put my education to use within my community by providing them some of the knowledge that I have gained throughout the years, and showing them the importance of obtaining an education. I personally feel that there is not enough mental support when it comes to individuals having to juggle both work and family life. I plan on helping those in my community find ways to manage their time effectively, and teach them how to cope with their life and work related stressors. As well as, motivating those around me to become the best versions of themselves.

During my years of general education courses, I have acquired at least five skills that will make me successful at my job as an early childhood educator. Those skills are the following: Communication, critical thinking, global awareness, problem solving, and people skills. All of these skills are essential in being a well rounded educator.

My newly acquired knowledge has shaped my personal development by allowing me to see how ideas connect across fields and everyday life. My newly acquired knowledge has shaped my professional development by preparing me to serve as a role model for my students. I will promote excellence throughout my teaching. My learning will help support student learning. Implementing strategies and providing developmentally appropriate practices is an example of how I will apply what I have learned in my courses to provide that support to my students.

As an educator, my plans for putting my education to use within my community are to address the social and emotional issues that my students experience throughout the school year. I will provide support to my students and their families by listening to the needs of the community. I will serve as their resource guide.
