I need help developing a 500 word response on two assigned readings. The purpose is to get myself into the habit of reading actively, analyzing, and synthesizing what i read; it also helps me toprepare to contribute to class discussion. For these papers, i may choose one of following prompts to answer:

a) Discuss what you find new, surprising, or interesting about the readings. What did you learn about culture, art, history, social movements, or the relationship between them that you didn’t know before?

b) What is the author’s main argument and how does he or she support it?

c) How do these readings build on, connect with, or speak to prior texts we’ve looked at in class? In other words, how do they relate to each other?

Remember to include author names, article/chapter titles, and page numbers if/when citing a direct quote.
