Throughout the early part of the 21st century, numerous scandals involving major corporations have captured headlines. The American public has grown weary of hearing about yet another corporation caught up in unethical business practices. Results from opinion polling by media organizations such as CBS News, the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times have reported high levels of public distrust and skepticism about the integrity of business leaders.

Research a case study of a major organizational scandal that captured headlines during the first part of the 21st century. The case study you select should identify why publicly traded corporations that follow the Anglo-American model of corporate governance are prone to being unethical, are exposed to unethical conflicts, and are thereby less competitive. The case study should also address why such corporations are likely to be inefficient and inequitable in the allocation of resources. Support the position that overpaying investors is in itself unethical.
