Your assignment is to influence Pat Booth to begin doing better work in a group project. The details are as follows:

In this exercise, you are acting as the Team Leader for a class project. The Project is to develop expertise in one of the course topics and present the information in a creative way to the class and instructor. The presentation and paper are worth 30% of the final grade in the course and all Team members will get the same grade.

Including yourself, the Team has 5 members of the Team (3 Seniors and 2 Juniors) and generally things are going well. However, one Team member (Pat Booth) is not getting the job done and the others are complaining. Pat has missed 3 of the 5 scheduled Zoom meetings and did not deliver all the promised outlines of the research. The work that Pat turned in by email was sketchy and not much use to the presentation. So far, Pat has only offered excuses based on some personal problems that have kept Pat running between school and home. You need to meet with Pat to find out what is going on and help Pat meet obligations to the Team. If this is not resolved, one of two things might happen. Either the Team will do poorly in the presentation and everyone’s grade will suffer as result, or the Team will cover Pat’s failures and get the work done without Pat. In that case, everyone might get a good grade for the project even Pat who has done nothing to deserve it. The other members of your Team have asked you to talk with Pat to solve this problem. You spoke to the instructor about this but, as the Team leader, you were instructed to take responsibility for resolving this problem.
