Influence Skills Assessment Paper:

1. Think about the influence concepts we have studied so far: Influence
   strategies (POIS); Resolving Conflict styles (Collaborating,
   Accommodating, Compromising, Competing/Forcing, and Avoiding,), Rewards
   and Punishment; Nudges, etc.
2. Now watch the three video meetings of students meeting with Pat.
   These are attached as links, For each video, you should make some notes
   about what is working well and what could be done better. Pay attention
   to how each person presents the problem and if they get to a reasonable
   solution. In the end, do you think any of the three meetings will
   change Pat’s behavior?
3. Your assignment is to write a paper (4-5 pages) sharing your
   assessment of each of the three video samples and the effectiveness of your plan for the meeting with Pat.
   • In this paper, please answer the following questions:
     1. Write your assessment of each of the three sample meetings. Be as
        specific as possible. use the actual statements from each video to
        support your evaluation.
     2. How did your original influence plan compare to what you saw? If you
        were doing a new script/influence plan, how would it be different from
        the first one? What would you change? First statement? The objective of the
        meeting? Influence strategy? Or conflict resolution style? Do you have
        an idea about a “nudge” that might help?
     3. Be sure to refer to the various influence concepts and readings we have gone over in class.
