According to some accounts, the organization listed below are rumored to have “toxic” cultures whether due to hostile or discriminatory work environments, the company’s response to union organizing efforts, or inconsistencies in external messaging and internal practices (perhaps all three?):

  1. If you were the Chief Learning Officer, what would you recommend as next steps related to enhancing their efforts to bolster, honor, and support increasing their diversity and inclusion efforts? Table 10.3 offers suggestions but please be more specific, i.e., “Make the business case for diversity” – how? For example, what messaging would be compelling? What methods and metrics would you recommend?

  3. What else is important to consider when attempting to (re)establish a company culture that is welcoming, supportive, and inclusive from your own experience, observations, and learnings in our class up to this point?
