Arizona State University Alzheimer and COVID 19 Patients Paper

Arizona State University Alzheimer and COVID 19 Patients Paper

Description

This is to complete the proposal for an “original” research project. You will have to
design and present an imaginary study on any topic in Psychology of your choosing. You will not be actually conducting the
study, but you will have to design it as if you were going to. Remember: When choosing you hypothesis and methodology,
focus on a very specific topic and hypothesis.

Two documents must be completed:

– Project Outline:
– I have actually completed the outline, however it needs to be corrected. Below, i will attach the original outline, with corrected contents. Please correct the outline with the proper corrections that were made and attach it as one of two documents. The outline is labeled “outline 1 (2).docx” in the file box below. Also, below I will attach screesnhots of the corrections that must be made in the outline document. please read the comments as well red title for corrections.

the final project outline should match the
contents on the paper. Please complete your Project Outline before starting to work in the Paper, but you could use a flexible and
iterative approach and change hypothesis, methodology, etc. as you work through the project. The final contents of the project outline should match the contents on the paper.
Some guidelines:
First page with the title and the list of group members.
Abstract. Introduce your topic and its relevance, summarize what you have (hypothetically) done, methodology,
possible results, and importance. The length of the abstract should be between 150 and 250 words, and confined
within a single paragraph. Write it last, after everything else has been completed.
Introduction. Describe the specific problem under study and its relevance, literature review (relevant hypotheses,
research strategies, and relevant conclusions). The introduction requires synthesis and understanding of the
topic. You don’t have to utilize and summarize everything you find about a topic, only what it is relevant for your
research question and hypothesis. Statements have to be supported always by references (citations) for anyone
to check and corroborate. All the references being used here have to be listed in the List of References. Approx. 3-
5 pages.
Methods and results. Describe your research strategy (e.g., experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational,
descriptive), your research design (e.g., between-groups, within-subjects), participants/subjects selection,
sampling procedure, what your independent and dependent variables are, what the comparison conditions are,
how did you control for confounding variables, etc. You will have to define and describe the participants/subjects,
the procedure, materials, testing environment, debriefing methods if apply (e.g., if deception has been used), etc.
Discuss possible expected results, what could you conclude from them.
List of references. Use academic sources (peer-reviewed journal articles). A minimum of 12 relevant sources should
be used in the paper as references. The research literature you review has to be relevant to your hypothesis. Only
list those references integrated and cited in the paper.
The guidelines are general and, depending on your research project, they could apply more directly or not. You could
always use the articles you are reviewing as a guide for the organization of your project.
You should format your document using APA style guidelines (Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association). You can find a good summary at
https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_style_introduction.html.
