ACCC Story Telling Mind Map
Description
Prior to beginning work on this journal, address the following:
- Review Readings 1 and 2 in the textbook.
- Watch The Importance of Storytelling in Film.
- Reflect on the concepts presented in the readings.
In this week’s readings, you were introduced to some of the important aspects of film: evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting film; storytelling; narrative elements; the role of film in society; and the relationship between literature and film. For this exercise, you will create a mind map organizing and connecting topics and subtopics in a manner that you believe best illustrates film. In essence, you will connect terms you learned in the readings with the concepts in a mind map. You will also write a one- to two-page reflective paper explaining the relationships between the topics in your mind map and the storytelling aspects of film.
In your mind map,
- Illustrate the relationship between film topics (e.g., evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting film; storytelling; narrative elements; the role of film in society; and the relationship between literature and film) and subtopics.
- Note: You are not limited to the above topics and subtopics.
- Be creative. There is no right or wrong way to do this.
