Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder is described as a preoccupation of perfectionism and orderliness with a controlling characteristic that has an extreme factor in one’s everyday life and routines. It causes emotional constriction and imbalance with relationships. Personality traits associated with OCPD include organization, excessiveness and caution, known to be workaholics who get stubborn and rigidity, especially when completing tasks. People who have this disorder tend to strictly follow rules and schedules to attain perfectionism, but there is also excessive doubt. When something or someone interferes with their plans, including when themselves don’t follow their own rules and schedules, they become very upset.

People with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder have personality traits that revolve around perfectionism. Their personality is full of diligence because they strive for challenging goals that are normally out of reach. They can come off as stubborn as well as possessive, this is because they are attached to a set of rules created by themselves or someone else. If someone were to mess their flow up while trying to accomplish a goal, it would negatively impact them and send them into a spiral. One thing that I found interesting was the fact that many people with this disorder see some people as “inferior” to them and will treat them badly compared to someone of a higher power. They don’t tolerate people’s quirks very well and it’s hard for them to see things from another person’s perspective.
