Research question: Is positive affect higher or lower after taking a midterm?
DV: Positive affect scores
Scoring: ranges from 10-50 with higher scores representing higher levels of momentary
positive affect.
1. State H0
2. State H1
3. Calculate t-statistic by hand AND using SPSS
4. Draw your conclusion about whether there is a statistically significant difference in
positive affect after taking a midterm (use ⍺ = .05.)
5. Also report your 95% confidence interval.
6. Report results in an executive summary using APA style.
7. Include your normal appendix with a picture of hand calculations and 8 steps plus your
annotated SPSS output
