Annotated bibliography
Description
Students will create an annotated bibliography of published journal articles related to a communication construct of their choosing. The construct (theme/hypothesis/theory/subject) should be grounded in one of the epistemological traditions covered in our textbook. Your annotated bibliography may serve as a resource for a potential future research project, and the same references (among others, I hope) can be used in your literature review paper. When choosing the salient theory in which to ground your research, think about your own path as a scholar. The annotated bibliography will consist of 10-12 sources, such as journal articles or book chapters. Use only credible, published sources from real library databases. Never surf the web for graduate-level research.
For each annotation, first provide the reference to the article in correct APA Style. Then fulfill the following information in narrative form (i.e., not listing these questions): What was the purpose of this study? How was it conducted? How was communication theory used in this study? Briefly stated, what were their findings? What new or compelling insights emerged from this study? Make sure each article is relevant to a prospective new study. Each annotation should be a brief 150-200 words. Word-economy is important. Feel free to ask for help as needed.
