emerging technologies that you identified—to address the problem or opportunity?

 Throughout this portion of your proposal, you need to demonstrate that each action

you propose is feasible; that the costs, risks, and time required have been

thoroughly justified (yielding, at minimum, the best approximation that could

realistically be offered); and the array of activities that you highlighted will jointly

resolve the problem or opportunity in a comprehensive manner, with a maximal

chance of success. Don’t forget to include actions that will be taken to evaluate the

performance of your proposal while it is ongoing, including clear benchmarks

against which it will be compared, and any costs or risks involved in this evaluation

work.

 This should include some indication of your expected timeline. For instance, how

long will it take to prepare the organization to enact your proposal? Will the

organization be ready to launch the plan in full within three months? A year? Two

years? Moreover, do you need to wait for the technology itself to develop, or

perhaps for regulatory issues to be resolved, before you can launch? Such issues

need to be carefully considered.

 You might broadly divide your timeline into two periods: any preliminary

work that is necessary for the organization and its members to prepare to

implement your plan, then the actual implementation that will alter the

advertising and/or public relations efforts and outcomes.

 Note that the preparatory phase will likely have a finite duration. The same

may not be true of the implementation phase, as this could either run for a

specified period of time or be maintained indefinitely.

 You need to be explicitly clear in detailing exactly what actions will need to be taken

by different individuals and/or organizational units at various points in time, and

each of these elements (including their costs and time requirements) need to be

clearly supported with properly cited sources. Don’t give your readers the chance to

say, “Why did they say this would cost that much money?” or “Why would it take

that amount of time? Did they just make up that number?”

 Due to the amount of detail that you will need to provide to explain the steps

required and justify the monetary and temporal costs at hand, this will likely be one

of the largest sections in your proposal. Expect it to comprise roughly one-third of

the body of your submission.
