American University of Science and Technology Citizens of The World Discussion
Question Description
I’m working on a communications writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
The idea of a public sphere developed to explain how people could form their opinions on important issues as a way of influencing the state. In the era of globalization, where issues often cross national borders, can we, as “citizens of the world,” form publics that also cross national borders? What would a truly transnational public sphere look like? How would a transnational public function? Would it be desirable?
