Miami Dade College Evidence Based Practice Discussion
Question Description
I’m working on a writing discussion question and need guidance to help me learn.
Hello everyone,
To start off, as nurses we are expected to provide the best quality care to any patient we are to care for. These patients deserve the best we care we can provide. Without staying current with new research/evidence-based practice findings in our area of care how can we say to a patient that we are doing our best to give the best care possible. it is reasonable to expect a nurse to stay current with these findings or with the research because it can only better their care, knowledge and skills.
As stated in the article Sendelbach (2008), this information needs to be implemented into practice in the best, most timely manner, so that none of our patients have to wait long for the best evidence-based care. These evidence-based practices and research can look at care from all angles in different care settings and can ask the important questions such as, What is the evidence for a given practice and how good is it? How can we best implement new evidence in practice? (Sendelbach, 2008). These questions need to be asked and when a nurse is up to speed with new information or research they can answer these questions in the best possible way or even ask themselves these questions to better their care.( syrene)
