Oconee Fall Line Technical College Assembly Plan Essay
Description
Task: Create Assembly Plan using your ‘Baseline Computer’ component list
- Look over the original computer component list you created Week 1; check to make sure all the components are compatible based on what you have learned in the course. If not, recreate your component list. For example, are your motherboard and CPU compatible? Did you select the right size power supply? Did you select the correct type of memory? Verify all this information by looking at the specification listed for your motherboard.
- Using your ‘revised component list’, document an Assembly Plan for your baseline computer.
- Using Microsoft Word
- Document the order in which you would assemble your components. Use ‘bullet’ format.
- Use your ‘component names’ in the list; for example: MSI A68HM-E33 Motherboard.
- At the point where the ‘core components’ are assembled, document the readings in BIOS/UEFI that you look at to verify the core components are working properly.
HINT: go back to ‘core component’ assembly 1 to get this information - List all the components, not just the core components in the assembly. In other words, list all assembly steps needed to fully assemble the computer including hard drive, DVD, additional memory, video card (whatever is in your component list). HINT: be sure to install hard drives and DVD in the correct order, you will not connect them until after the ‘core system’ test.
- Save as ‘Assembly Plan’
Grading Rubric:
25 points (correct order of assembly of baseline components)
25 points (content – did you include ‘core component test’ correctly ie. (BIOS/UEFI readings)
