Facebook and Twitter have always claimed that they are only a communications company and have taken no official position on events. Given international political realities, is this a reasonable position to still hold? Is it even possible given that they have to remove disinformation? Does it help or hinder society and humanitarian causes? Does this simply drive some users to other partisan platforms with even less responsibility? Does it do anything given that some groups already believe that Facebook is opposed to them - There will be two sides of essay which is argument side and counter-argument side.
