Description
Students must complete a written report of a case study about someone you know that has a psychological disorder. You may choose to use a fictitious name for the person. Students will write a 5-7-page paper (typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font, 1-inch margins on all sides) that applies what they have learned about Psychopathology. Your paper should reflect your ability to analyze and evaluate elements of critical thinking including Your first paragraph should include a Thesis Statement of Purpose (addressing your topic and what you intend to inform the reader about) as well as Questions (Formulate clearly and concisely questions and problems you see as important and relative to your topic that you will be addressing). The body of your paper will detail Information (Identify the psychological disorder of the person in your case study, and the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for the disorder, as well as specific examples to support the diagnosis; Gather and assess examples of relevant information including facts, observations, experiences, and evidence about your topic including the impact that the disorder has had on the person and possible treatments); Terms/Concepts and Theories (What key terms/concepts and theories are relevant to the disorder? Introduce, define, and explore these concepts and theories in your paper); and Conclusion (Does your concluding paragraph bring the paper to a strong, memorable close?). Format and correctness (spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, flow, precision, and clarity in writing) will also be graded. Late papers will be accepted with 10 points off for each day late.
